On August 25, 2026, as part of scientific cooperation between doctoral researchers of the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and scientific staff of the State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan, a scientific study of the entomological collections preserved in the museum’s collections was conducted.

During the study, collection specimens belonging to the family Gelechiidae of the order Lepidoptera (moths) were examined in detail, with particular attention given to their scientific significance.

The research is of considerable importance for the further study of the museum’s entomological materials, their scientific classification and systematization, as well as for the preparation of scientific and popular science publications based on the collection specimens.

The rare and scientifically valuable collections preserved in the museum’s repositories represent not only an important part of the historical and cultural heritage, but also a valuable scientific resource for studying biological diversity, its composition, and patterns of change.

Such cooperation between specialists in the fields of science and museum studies contributes to enhancing the scientific potential of museum collections, integrating them into contemporary research, and disseminating reliable scientific information to the wider public.
