Brief information about the main and scientific auxiliary funds of the State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan
The number of exhibits in the main fund of the State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan is 363,059, including 356,722 entomological insect collections, 4,409 zoological collections and 1,928 geological collections. The collection of insects makes up 97% of the museum fund.
A collection of 136,538 insects collected by entomologist V. I. Obukhova in 1937-1940 is preserved in the main collection of the State Nature Museum of Uzbekistan.
The number of exhibits in the scientific auxiliary fund is 1265. Among them, there are 987 botanical materials, zoological objects, dioramas, models, 125 geological-geographical exhibits, 153 portraits of scientists, sketches, mobile exhibition pictures.

General Biology Hall
The General Biology Hall is of particular interest to researchers, students, students and representatives of other scientific fields, because the hall contains unique exhibits related to natural sciences. Among them, the most unique are exhibits and wet preparations of various breeds and varieties obtained as a result of breeding mutated domestic animals.
The hall "The origin of life on Earth"
In this hall you can find archaeological and paleontological exhibits, from the origin of the Solar system to the development of life on Earth. In addition, the museum’s rare exhibits include a mammoth femur, a Neanderthal stone baby, and rock carvings.


Diorama ща Highlands of Uzbekistan
The highland diorama is special in that it represents the world of animals and plants, as well as the landscape of the mountainous regions of Uzbekistan and Central Asia as a whole, and this makes a deep impression on visitors.
An exhibition of different bird families
This exhibition features exhibits of more than 100 species of birds belonging to 9 different families such as pheasants, gulls, herons, cranes and other families.


Diorama "Deserts of Uzbekistan"
The diorama represents the desert areas of Uzbekistan, as well as their fauna. Of the animals found in the deserts of Uzbekistan, the diorama features such animals as bustard, fox, Central Asian desert turtles, Turkmen caracal, desert snakes and Central Asian gray monitor lizard.
The Nature Reserve Diorama
This diorama features stuffed animals found in nature reserves in Uzbekistan. Brown bears, deer and porcupine can be seen in the diorama.


The exhibition "Agriculture"
In this exhibition, you can find collections of the agricultural industry, in particular, different varieties of wheat and seeds of agricultural crops, cocoons and silkworm yarns, decorative pumpkins, loofahs, as well as stuffed animals and much more.
The hall "Animals living in cold climates"
Animals adapted to cold climates live at the north and south poles of the globe. In this room you can get to know penguins, the most famous creatures adapted to cold climates.


The "Wetland Birds" Hall
Wetland birds differ in their habitat and attractiveness compared to other birds. Rare bird species such as cranes, broad-nosed and other wild duck species, pink pelican, and hissing swan can be found in the hall’s exposition.
The hall "Animals found in different regions of Uzbekistan"
The dioramas “Tugai forests” and “Walnut forests” are presented in this hall and animals that live in desert areas. The exhibition features stuffed animals of such species as the Turanian tiger, wild boar, thin-toed ground squirrels, badger, snake eagle, bustards and others.


The "Geology" Hall
The exposition of the geological hall contains samples of various rocks and minerals. The collection of geological exhibits collected to date has been preserved and supplemented over the years since the museum was established. Of particular interest to visitors are samples of oil, volcanic rocks, metal ores, sedimentary rocks and decorative stones.
Entomology Hall
The entomological collection is the collection with the largest number of objects among other types of collections of exhibits of the State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan. Many items of the entomological collection are unique in their kind and were also brought from different parts of the world during scientific expeditions. Collections of various species of local and tropical butterflies and beetles, bees and grasshoppers are on display in this hall.
